Pam Wreford commissioned as Lay Pastoral Assistant

Having completed the appropriate training and having received the Bishop’s commendation,  Pamela Wreford was
commissioned as Lay Pastoral Assistant on Sunday Morning 23rd July at our 10.30 am  Eucharist Service at All Saints’.

The LPA will be involved in the following tasks:
·
  • Welcome newcomers to our church and our community, for example by taking part in local activities e.g. coffee mornings, lunch clubs.
  • Visit people in their homes particularly the elderly, the disabled, and the lonely
  • Support the bereaved
  • Set up and lead an informal parish visitors network
  • Set up a Bible readers rota for All Saints Church
  • Take an active part in church worship e.g. join the Chalice and Bible readings rotas, and lead prayers of Intercession at the request of the Incumbent.
  • Any other pastoral ministry tasks agreed between the Incumbent and the LPA

Following the service a very special cake made by Pam’s husband Chris was blessed and then enthusiastically consumed by those present.

Please pray for Pam as she embarks upon this ministry.
