Community and Fundraising Events Planned for 2018

  • A Coffee Morning to fundraise for the Mother's Union Banner will be held in St John's Church between 10.30 and 12 noon on Friday 20th April 
  • A Concert arranged by David Bridges, with local pupils from Taunton School to celebrate the refurbished organ and the magnificent acoustics of St. John's Church will be held at 7 pm on Friday 11th May 2018. Tickets will cost £7.50 (including refreshments) and will be available from 1st April from Gerald Weaver, Gillie Greig (284092) or Marjorie Connell (270611) 
  • The Produce Stall (and coffee) held under the Lych Gate of St. John's Church will run from 30th June until 1st September
  • Parish Breakfast held at Staplegrove Village Hall from 8.30 am until 11.30 am. Dates planned for 2018 are 23 June and 10 November (with stalls)
  • Monthly Soup lunches held at 12 noon on the second Tuesday of the month at Staplegrove Village Hall from October to March (not December)
  • Monthly Tea and Chat held on the third Thursday of the month in St John's Church from April until September (not August). The first tea and chat for 2018 will be held on 19 April between 3 and 4.30 pm

News from fundraising events in 2017

The weekly Produce Stall held between June and September 2017 raised a magnificent £1703.95. 

  • Thank you to everyone who contributed to, bought produce from or ran the stall 

The Parish Breakfast with stalls, held on 23 November 2017 raised £505.17 in aid of the Organ Fund

The Bell Ringers raised £260 in aid of Children in Need in November 2017

The Coffee morning with produce stalls held at Staplegrove School on 14 October 2017 raised £250

  • £50 was given to the Brownies for the Children of the Caribbean Disaster Appeal
  • £50 for the Friends of Staplegrove School and £150 for Church funds.  
  • Thank you to those that contributed to the day by providing produce or attending the event or by helping including School Staff and Prefects and members of the Church

The Strollers' raised £55 for the 'Ride and Stride' Appeal on 9 September 2017

The family afternoon at Higher Yarde Farm raised almost £400 for the Church Reordering Fund on 9 July 2017.
